At Escuela de idiomas Violeta Parra – TANDEM Santiago®, you can start group courses at all levels every week. You can reserve a spot in a Spanish class with just 1 week’s notice or many months in advance. Due to the compact nature of our program, all basic grammar is covered in just 8 weeks.

An intensive Spanish course, composed of 4 daily lessons of 45 minutes, allows you to supplement your vacation with some language study. The Super Intensive Spanish Course or the Crash Course, with 6 or 7 daily lessons can guarantee the highest level of progress in a short period of time.

Group courses begin every Monday. Groups are limited to a maximum of 7 students. We offer 8 to 10 different levels of Spanish, depending on the number of students currently enrolled in the school. Each level equates to one week of Spanish class.

Please note our special offers for Spanish courses of 4 weeks or more in the three modalities: Intensive, Super Intensive, and Crash. During low season–May, June, and December we offer a 10% discount on our group course price.

También ofrecemos los siguientes módulos de cursos especiales de español los cuales pueden ser tomados como clases particulares agregando 2 clases diarias a tu programa de curso grupal o como clases individuales sin tener que tomar un curso grupal. Estos módulos son: Español para Negocios, Español para Médicos, Español para Abogados, Curso de Vino Chileno. Todos ellos requieren de un nivel Intermedio de Español.

Typical extracurricular activities include guided tours that visit Santiago’s monuments and famous sites.

You’re invited to join us every Friday night for an open meet-up at a neighborhood pub. People from the school and their friends come together to chat, have a drink, and have some fun.

Every Friday we organize a free group activity with the students in our English and Spanish courses. These activities are organized by two teachers so the students may practice their Spanish and English, respectively, through the use of role-playing and other games. 45 minutes are assigned to each language.

Practice your Spanish by sharing an apartment with Chileans. Students share the kitchen, bathroom, and other common areas with the apartment owner. We recommend this option to students who want to be in contact with the locals, but also want some independence when it comes to cooking and eating whenever they like.

Private Housing – Families

Eat breakfast and dinner with your hosts, an opportunity to fully immerse yourself in the language by living and practicing Spanish. We recommend this second option to those students that do not wish to cook for themselves. Private Housing includes breakfast or half board. The students eat with the host family (often it’s just one person) and this let’s them experience firsthand how Chilean’s actually live, while practicing their Spanish at the same time.

We also offer: Boutique Hostel, Boutique Hotel***, Mini-Apartments, and small furnished studio apartments. All housing options include the airport shuttle to the booked lodging.

Every weekend we offer exciting one and two day trips. These trips include visits to Valparaíso, Viña del Mar, Isla Negra (Pablo Neruda Museum), the palm forest in La Campana National Park on the coast, and different National Parks along the mountains.
